Abstract

This article investigates the evolution of the term "visual communication design" through a comprehensive literature review and analysis, tracing both domestic and international sources. It examines the historical transition from "graphic design" to "visual communication design" and explores the introduction and dissemination of this concept within Asia. By reviewing the terminological shifts and their implications, the study aims to clarify the broader context and significance of visual communication design in contemporary design discourse.
